The aqueous solution with concentrated hydrochloric acid precipitates jujube red.
Gold - orange precipitation precipitates with concentrated alkali, and the color light changes slightly with dilute alkali.
Slightly soluble in ethanol (lemon color), ethylene glycol ether and acetone (greenish-yellow).
It is reddish purple in concentrated sulfuric acid and precipitates purple to reddish blue precipitates after dilution.
Insoluble in concentrated alkali, white when diluted.
It is yellow in concentrated ammonia

It is widely use in many fields like the following:

Direct brilliant yellow 4R used for dyeing cotton and viscose fiber fabrics is red yellow, with good shifting and leveling properties, high dyeing rate, and a certain hiding power for dead cotton fibers and uneven viscose.
For cotton fabric used in knitwear, flannelette, flannelette dyeing, printing, less used in cotton.
Dyeing rich fiber with high dyeing rate.
It is also used for the dyeing of silk, wool, vinylon, polyamide and blended fabrics. The color depth of silk, wool and cotton and viscose is similar. The color light of wool is slightly dark.
Can also be used for cotton, viscose, silk fabrics direct printing and color discharge.
In addition to the use alone, often with direct green B, direct dark green B, direct acid red 4BS color use.
